Skipping Lunge

Equipment

bodyweight

Setup

  • Stand tall in a split stance with one foot forward.
  • Keep the chest up and the trunk braced.

Execution

  1. 1.Drop into a lunge, then jump straight up and switch the legs in the air.
  2. 2.Land in a lunge with the other foot forward, absorbing softly.
  3. 3.Continue alternating for the prescribed number of skips.

Breathing

Breathe continuously in rhythm with the skips.

Form cues

  • Land softly with the front shin near vertical.
  • Keep the torso upright throughout.
  • Steady rhythm — this sits inside a timed block.

Common mistakes

  • Landing with a straight front leg.
  • Letting the front knee travel far past the toes.
  • Leaning forward as fatigue builds.

Safety

  • Land softly and stop the set if you cannot control the landing — the switch happens fast.
